I've never heard of this young woman, but this write-up intrigues me, and I'll have to check out her book. I love seeing people from non-Christian backgrounds arguing against porn use. You're right - the anons doth protest too much. And if saying "this behavior is wrong" is "pathologizing male sexuality" then...I don't know, maybe that needs to be pathologized.

This was lovely. She deserves everything said here. India is an incredible voice for the current and coming generations and maybe she should be feared and loathed by the loathsome because she will assist in turning the tide for the better.

I love her! I’ve read tons of her stuff and if people are attacking her the way you report I will now become a paid subscriber and buy her book.

Outstanding profile. 👏

I appreciate the write up. As a father of two girls, I want to understand this better. I've read Louise Perry and enjoyed her dispassionate analysis of the sexual revolution and it's consequences.

What a great interview and I’m so glad to be introduced to India’s work. This is a subject that I am also passionate about and as a public school teacher I daily feel heartbreak at what this generation is facing.

An intelligent woman writing to help young women, why can’t we just see that? 😂

Thanks for this. I enormously respect and admire Freya India and the work she’s doing. This was excellent.

I don’t know who she is…. I’m okay with that.

freya india is a fraud, what are you even talking about

Nah. She’s not an “essential voice” like her book jacket says. Listen to Katie & Caro on Diabolical Lies podcast tell you why.

I like India and think she has quality work. Concerning the 'stay in your lane' idea, I do wish she would train up a bit more to have more robust takes. I have a read some of her works and there is quality but I wish it had something more.

Hmm. It all smacks of the grift.. And even in these styled professional photos she still has Restless Bitch-Face. She strikes me as unkind and uninteresting.

What an ugly comment about someone you don’t know at all.

Malachas Ivernus's avatar

One of the downsides of setting yourself up as a public personality is that you will attract comments both positive and negative from people who don't know you at all. I wouldn't worry: she will surely never see my comment, nor yours.

I am comforted, still your choice of terms should discomfit you and lead to personal analysis about the Tourette’s-like comment that bubbled forth from your keyboard :-)

I am constantly discomfited by my analysis of myself and others. I highly recommend, in regard to the present matter, that you and others read the article mentioned (but not linked) in the above. Very illuminating.

Thanks for the link to the article, the trouble with that article is that it argues beliefs are silos - you can only believe things that align to a particular label if you want to have credibility. But in reality Freya might espouse a view/belief that overlaps with another group, it doesn't make her a member of that group - this crops up a lot in atheism versus Christianity debates, less so in the cess pit of the culture wars. Still, thanks for linking, good to see what the author was referencing.
